Nicholas Quirke
painting
I am a professional full-time artist with formal training in the UK, having studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London and completing a diploma at Spike Island, Bristol. My practice centres on semi-abstract landscape painting, where observation, memory, and atmosphere are distilled into expressive colour, rhythm, and mark-making. Alongside this, I am known for works inspired by Henley Royal Regatta, capturing the energy, tradition, and movement of rowing through dynamic composition. My work balances structure and spontaneity, inviting viewers to experience familiar places and events in a fresh, emotional way, with strong sense of place and time.
