Johannes Roux
wood
Johannes Roux works with reclaimed and naturally fallen local wood to create one-off pieces that celebrate the inherent character and imperfections of the material. Guided by the forms found in nature, his work is also informed by the long tradition of vessel-making across human civilisations. Many of his pieces are turned on the lathe and then further developed through hand carving. Smaller offcuts are repurposed into distinctive items of jewellery, ensuring that every part of the material is valued and used.
